How Do I Configure AVG Safe Surf for Wi-Fi?

I recently puchased AVG Safe Surf for my laptop computer – only to discover that when I activate it, my laptop's wired LAN port activates with it.

The problem is that I use Wi-Fi exclusively, employing Ideaworks' external, long-range Wi-Fi antenna to connect with a local free Wi-Fi hotspot (I absolutely refuse to pay the exhorbitant $100-plus-per-month Internet access fees charged by both my local phone company and cable company).

How do I reconfigure AVG Safe Surf to run through my laptop's wireless card instead of through its wired Ethernet port (the latter of which I've since disabled)? Or do I have to replace it with a new version of AVG Safe Surf?

As an added FYI, my laptop is a Dell Latitude D630 that operates on Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 (32-bit version).
