How do I disable the AVG search tabs (there are 2 of 'em) that open when I open my browser?

Every time I open my browser I get two AVG Search tabs open without being selected (or, for that matter, wanted/needed).
How do I eliminate this annoying situation.
Everything else seems to be working as advertised.  Just the search engine debacle.
