How do I get AVG anti-virus to stop automatically closing and removing things all the time?
I tried going to "scan now>options>scan whole computer>options" and disabling "heal / remove virus infections without asking me".
I tried going to "scan specific files or folders>options" and disabling "heal / remove virus infections without asking me".
I tried going to "avg>options>advanced settings>virus vault" and disabling "automatic file deletion".
I tried going to "avg>options>advanced settings>avg self protection" and disabling "enable avg self protection".
I tried going to "avg>options>advanced settings>identify protection" and changing "Automatically quarantine known threats" to a lesser "Always Prompt".
After doing these 5 things, it still closes things without asking, and says it stopped a threat without asking, or any way to disable it.
The threats are probably false-positives. So I want to disable it for certain things.
For example it detects ".bat" files I had to re-write as "threats" again.
Same issue with certain ".exe" files that I've used and trusted for a long time.
The issue is that I don't completely trust some new files, or ".exe" files, or even some zero-day www vulnerabilities. That's why I wanted an anti-virus.
I didn't want an anti-virus so it deletes everything without any of my permission, closes everything without any of my permission, and I can't work with.
The only way that I can find now is to disable AVG anti-virus real-time protection and get another anti-virus.
But the main reason I'm using AVG anti-virus is because I wanted a portable anti-virus, couldn't find 1, decided to settle for a stand-alone download, and found AVG.
If I can't ge this fixed fast then I have no choice but to stop using AVG and get a different anti-virus that doesn't have these problems.
Even if it's download isn't stand-alone. No choice.
When it says that it closed something and stopped a "threat", I try to right-click it or look for some information to stop it from doing it. I don't see it.
For example windows defender and microsoft security essentials works like that. But I don't want to use that for reasons and want an alternative like AVG.
So how do I get it to stop automatically closing certain programs all the time?
Please reply fast so I can get this fixed now.
Thank you.
