How do I stop constant threat secured popups?

I have the same issue, and like Tom, my patience is wearing thin. I hate, absolutely can't stand, these annoying popups. I've tried to turn on the silent mode. It says it's on, but then I have to spend 5+ minutes every time I return to my computer, closing, waiting half a second for another popup to come up, close that, repeart for 100.

I've had enough of AVG now. This issue has been bothering people for years it seems and there is no help to be given in the support forums. I'm moving to Malware Bytes instead.

I have the same issue. I'm trying to login to Stripe, and it's a redirect to the dashboard. And yes… AVG won't let me. I regret this update and the extra payment I made for this 'feature'. How can I turn it off?

Every time I go to a new webpage I get a popup which shows: "We've safely aborted connection on foundfax.com because it was infected with Other: Malware-gen [Tri]."

I have tried everything I can to remove this pop-up but it keeps happening. I tried following directions to reboot in safe mode and remove files, but I do not know where to go to get whatever malware files removed. I do not have any Chrome extensions or applications with this name. Please help!

Thanks

Stephanie

Hello Stephanie,

We will help you to get this resolved.
Could you share the screenshot of AVG threat detection popup by clicking on "see details" from it?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Are you using AVG Antivirus free or paid version of AVG Internet Security?

I am so sick and tired of the same answer that AVG gives to this same problem that I have and apparently so many other users!
AVG requests a screen shot from the inquirer and then "crickets!" No feedback to the problem for those of us searching for a solution on the support page.
I have this problem on the paid version in 2 PCs in 2 separate locations. I spent over 1.5 hours with an "advanced tech support person. I received no straight answers except the cause was not the AVG software.
Apparently, with the number of others experiencing the same malware threat it must be the AVG software.
Is it time to remove AVG?

Hi Tom,

In order to keep the conversation simple, we request you to refrain multiple posts. Please write back to us in your own post, providing the screenshot of the message. This will reveal the email address registered with AVG & we'll also be able to check the previous incident with us. Once we analyze the file that is detected, we'll be in a position to help you troubleshoot the issue.

Hello George,

We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Due to suspect AVG is incorrectly detecting this website. If yes, then we request you to add the website to AVG exception (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=AVG-Antivirus-scan-exclusions&supportType=home) list and report this as false positive (https://www.avg.com/en-us/false-positive-file-form).

This will be checked by our developers and if found genuine it will be added to our whitelist.

Hello Alex,

We're sorry to hear that you feel this way. This isn't the experience we wanted you to have had.
The purpose of AVG protection is to detect/block any & all potential threats & inform the user about it through a threat pop-up.
It is mandatory to analyze these threat pop-ups, as the detected files could be malicious in nature.
If the file is not harmful, we'll escalate the issue to our concerned team, to make sure that this false positive will be fixed in the future updates.
Hence, please share us the screenshot of the pop-ups you're receiving via your own/new post, so that we can further investigate this issue.
Thank you for understanding in advance!
