Hi everybody,
I was just cleaning up an ancient Dell belonging to my wife - we bought her a replacement, and the old one is going into semi-retirement.
Guess what - haven't had AVG protection on there in a half-decade, but Tune-Up was quietly plugging away in the background, soaking up resources, and slowing everything down (in the sad way that I finally got fed up with, and decided to quit using AVG products altogether - or so I thought)
The Final Solution (German company right? You understand the reference?) was to use REVO uninstaller.
It's free, it's famous because it's good, and it is easily available - also as a USB key app, so you don't need to install it on your computer.

I have the same experience as Barry, the romover tool doesn't work (it seems to be working, but does not unistall the programme, there is no need for screen shot you developed TuneUp to be difificult to get rid off) and we cannot unistall the TuneUp otherwise. This is unacceptable: you are forcing us to install problematic and unwanted software with on way of removing it. This violates our rights, if you don't fix it asap I am going to stop using AVG altogether and will consider legal action, along with highlighting your unacceptable behaviour to all relevant forums.
I'm so angry I could spit! I found another computer I had installed AVG on 4 years ago, the paid version, tried to remove it and the anti-virus came off but tune up does not. I've now tried the removal tool from 2 years ago, and fresh download of removal tool today and ran as administrator, it says it's done and to reboot and I go back and check and it's still there… How do you actually get this to come off?
Hello,
I uninstalled the AVG software via the AVG remover tool, but the AVG Tuneup is still installed in my computer!! when I click the uninstall button of AVG Tuneup in Add/Remove program nothing happened.
how do I remove it?
I do so because I haven't got a proper solution for my problem for some months from your service.

What was the answer to this problem? I can’t remove “AVG Tuneup” which acts like a virus.
