How long does it take to scan and repair of C Drive?

Hi There Edward,
It can normally take a few hours to scan and repair your Hard Drive dependant on the amount of space you have used and is available.

Normally at bootup it says press any key to skip disk checking.

after uploading ultimate 2015 avg my computer rebooted and is now scanning and repairing C Drive. Now at 10%. Has been there for one and a half hours.is this normal? Is there a way to bypass?
