Open AVG, click Menu -> Settings -> General -> Notifications. Then tick the checkbox against "Use the silent mode to turn off all pop ups, alerts and messages".
I periodically get notifications from AVG that threats were blocked. When this happens a window pops up which states that the threat was blocked. It's great that AVG is blocking threats, but is there a way for it to block them without generating a pop-up message in the middle of my screen?
These pop-ups have always been annoying but in the past they were rare enough that I was willing to endure them. That has now changed since they have drastically increased over the past few days. It is very annoying if while I am watching a movie on Netflix an AVG notification pops up every few minutes in increments of three so that I have to click out of it three times in rapid succession only to have it do it again a few minutes later and it is in the middle of the screen too, which is the worst possible place while watching a movie! Yesterday I was playing a computer game and AVG kept minimizing my game every few minutes to let me know that it had blocked a threat from some website that I've never heard of. My game kept going while it was minimized without my being able to control it, which was sub-optimal since it almost caused me to lose the game each time that this happened. The only way that I could get AVG to stop was to completely disconnect my Internet connection. That worked while playing that computer game, but obviously won't if I am doing something that requires Internet.
AVG has popped up multiple times while I have been typing this message and otherwise using the AVG website today. It is very annoying and inconvenient.
Is there any way that I can get AVG to not have its big notification pop-up in the middle of my screen, but still work to protect against threats?
