How to get gopro webcam to work on windows 10

I've got the same problem, and I've done the things you're suggesting.

Still no luck. Any other ideas?

Best regards,
Emil

Hi Sreenu,

If you look at the image above, you will see that i have already created a rule for the GoPro Camera.  It still does not connect.  I have opened the logs and i can see that the traffic is being blocked even though there is a rule to allow all connections TPD/UDP.  See image bellow.

Thank you for the screenshot, Camilo. I appreciate your efforts.

Please change the "Network Profile" in firewall settings to private and check if that fixes the issue. To change the settings, open AVG Internet Security, click on "Menu-> Settings->Full Protection->Enhanced Firewall", at the bottom check for the network to which your computer is connected and change the profile to "Private" if selected in public and then click on "System Rules", change all the settings that are not configured. Once this is done, please check if you are able to access the "GoPro" app.

If you still need any help, don't hesitate to contact us.

Hello everyone I found the solution to the issue with the GoPro and the AVG firewall. So far it is working with no issues but it took some digging to figure it out. Please follow the steps below. Karthikeyan's comment was just missing a step. I have the GoPro Webcam app downloaded from their website and just have the standard power cable plugged in (no micro HDMI via MediaMod) by the way. Hope this helps you all.

Step 1: "To change the settings, open AVG Internet Security, click on "Menu-> Settings->Full Protection->Enhanced Firewall", at the bottom check for the network to which your computer is connected and change the profile to "Private" if selected in public." (Karthikeyan)

Step 2: Now connect and turn on your GoPro to where you can hear the common ding that you have a device connected. Immediately look under the Enchanged Firewall "List of Network Profiles". You will notice a wired unidentified network appears only when the GoPro is on. This is the actual GoPro itself and the connection will establish as public. Change this to private and the firewall will stop blocking the camera.

I have tested this using several different applications such as the GoPro Webcam App, Discord, Skype, ect and the camera activates with no issues.

Key Note: I haven't investigated how to keep this connection private once it is disconnected so once you disconnect the GoPro, the connect reverts back to public and you have to change it again. It works though so a win is a win.

Hi Midhun,

I have narrowed it down to the Enhanced Firewall, as when I disable it the Go Pro Webcam App works.  When I look into the Firewall Options there GoPro Inc. is there and all connections are allowed. Unless i turn off the enhanced Firewall i still cannot see the cameras image.  (The Connection from the GoPro Camera to the computer is via USB C to USB A).

Thanks

I was able to get it working on window 10 by disabling AVG.  I tried to add the whole gopro webcam folder to the exceptions list but as soon as I turn AVG protection back on it stops working.  It does seem like an AVG problem to me.
