Hi Ray,
Thank you for contacting AVG Community Forum. I see you are facing issues with AVG TuneUp that deleted the downloads files. I am for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the deleted files cannot be restored. I know this must be frustrating. Could you please try changing some settings to ignore the downloads being deleted before running free up space? Please follow the instructions below:
1. Open AVG TuneUp and click the Free up space tile.
2. Select Browser data.Click Show in the Browser data tab to clean temporary web browser files.
3. Choose Recommended so that you can safely clean without losing crucial data.
4. Please check the box of download history.
Then click on clean now. I hope this helps. Please feel to contact us anytime, if you are facing any issues. Thanks and Keep us updated.
My PC was very hot within 5 minutes and very slow.
Today morning, I used AVG to clean my new PC.
But now, I discovered that AVG deleted all files inside folders in Downloads,
files outside folders in Downloads seem to be untouched,
Very strange!
It seems that other users had the same experience.
How can I restore?
Windows 10 system store didn't work for me.
