Since August 2021 with increasing frequency this virus has flashed up by AVG every time I go near the email and internet. Please give me a step-by-step solution? Many thanks.

I have "Open AVG program - click on refresh icon beside virus definitions, at bottom left corner - Restart computer after successful update & check." and run a scan. So I await to see if the trojan ExtortMail reappears and can safely conduct financial buisness on the internet purchasing food etc.

Please ensure that the AVG program has the latest patches applied to it.
Open AVG program - click on refresh icon beside virus definitions, at bottom left corner - Restart computer after successful update & check.
If issue persists, please submit a false positive request by visiting this link to check the legitimacy.
Once you submit a request, a group of analysts will review the file & whitelist it, if it is found to be safe or goes through clean notes of AVG.
