When we uninstall Avast AntiVirus free from control panel, at times few traces might be left out in the computer. Hence in order to completely wipe out all the traces of Avast AntiVirus ( including from registries ) clear tool is recommended.
Avast Clear is a software uninstallation utility which completely removes certain Avast products.

I am trying to remove "Avast Free" software from my PC. Their website says to download avastclear.ex
Typically, I’d be concerned if a program needed a separate uninstaller to remove it from my computer. But, antiviruses are a little different. Having a standalone uninstaller is mostly a security measure, so that a virus can’t uninstall the program against your wishes. You want an antivirus to be difficult to disable and uninstall, because viruses can be very complex, yet, have to be compact enough to be able to deploy quickly and without being seen. About a year back, I shifted from AVG, a program I’d used for about a decade, to Avast. I’d been having some issues with AVG, like it disabling valid programs because it thought they were viruses. But, it also came across as throwing an error of sorts when I did maintenance with another program.
AVG also requires a standalone uninstaller. Ran it, rebooted, no more AVG. No issues.
Avast is a reputable product that’s been out there for years. While I haven’t had to use its uninstaller yet, I can say with some confidence that it wouldn’t be in there best interest to create an uninstaller that did anything other than uninstall. i read this from here Tribunal GamesThere are other antiviruses that are a bit less reputable (looking at you, McAfee), but, their sales have suffered because of it (the only reason they stay in business is because they get added as “bloatware” on new systems, and those customers don’t know enough not to subscribe to it).
Hopefully, you’ll be adding another antivirus. Not being protected is a sure way to put your data at risk, as well as slow your machine down, and even maybe get caught up in a ransomware attack.
