Apparently the file could not be sent to customer care but was sent to the AGP FTP server. The file was called dicktracey68@hotmail.com_25-06-2014_16h-31m.7z
I also have the same issue. Windows 8.1, I was about fed up with trying to make it work, and about to ask for my money back, but I will wait. Please let me know when a fix is available.
I just installed AVG Ultimate and I am facing the same issue. Is there a solution for this issue on Ultimate and Window 8 combo?
AVG, this issue has been tracking for almost 6 months now. Do you ever intend to fix it?
Hi Wolfram,
Unfortunately there are still no news on this issue.
Thanks
Hi Margreet,
Unfortunately only fix (temporary) available is uninstall Firewall component or disable family safety.
Thanks
I'm jumping in here about a year later- has this issue been resolved? I'm still having the same issue? any news?
I am amazed that this issue has gone on for so long, and that the AVG response is always, sorry, no progress.
Why isn't AVG following up with whoever has the problem in their hands, and getting a status - is it being worked on, when is a solution expected, etc. 'No progress' is not a satisfactory answer - it could mean that the problem isn't being attended to at all.
And the implications that problems won't be addressed quickly because 'it's the weekend' are seriously unprofessional.
I am very disappointed in AVG.
Hi Richard,
If you are using AVG 2013 maybe upgrade(it is free use same license) to latest version will solve your issue.
Thanks
I am also experiencing the same issue. Windows 8.1 and only the child's user account and not my administrator account. Crashes as soon as first attempt to connect to Internet using browser or login via Steam application. UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP avgwfpa.sys
I also have this problem, so would like to track this to conclusion. Neither making my child an Admin, or switching off parental controls are palatable. I'd like to be aware when a fix is available.
Other than removing the firewall component there isn't. I suggest returning your product and getting some other protection because AVG doesn't listen to it's customers, as you can read above. More than a year ago this issue was submitted.
AVG Internet Security 2015 (with AVG Firewall) + Windows 8.1 + Family Safety (ON) = All child account will crash as soon as that account gets internet acess after logging in. So far, uninstalling AVG Firewall stops the issue but a permanent fix from AVG is very essential.
[Disabling AVG Firewall doesnot fix the issue and it is not recommended as AVG won't allow Windows Deafult Firewall to run.]
*AVG Employee sugessting to remove Family Safety is so disgusting. Oh my AVG is not running smoothly on my new Win10 DP, should I be using Mac Product or Burn my new laptop and buy compactable Windows XP.
Hi Andrew,
You can uninstall AVG Firewall as temporarily fix.
I try keep you informed here.
Thanks
AVG Employee, if I uninstall AVG firewall, am I losing any protective features? I am not really computer literate so I have no idea what risks I am exposing my computer to. In other words, what are the risks to my computer if I uninstall my AVG firewall? Thank you.
How do I uninstall the Firewall AVG component only? I've disabled it, but still get the BSOD.
I have the same issue. Glad to know what it is. It would be good to know when there is a fix. As I posted two Support tickets last week off the AVG site and received no reply how will we get to know when this issue is resolved?
Hello, I have just purchased AVG and have the same problem with both normal user accounts monitored by Family Safety. I tried changing to administrator account and made no difference.
When will this be resolved?
I have the same issue too, I can log in to my own account, but after a minute or so I get "unexpeted kernel trap mode" and avgwfpa.sys… Can anyone tell me what to do in laymans terms please since I'm not very good with computers…
Hello AVG,
I'm piggybacking on this track as I have been unsuccessful going through your support email and chat for the last two months with this well known issue.
I have been an AVG advocat for well over ten years. I have purchased your product for that same time year after year. I have been a multi-license customer with 10 licenses for 6 years now, and I have sold your products to friends and businesses over and over again.
This issue needs resolved immediately, as it has been known for months and affects the children we need to protect, Pointing at Microsoft is a joke, they define the standards in the market. If you violate them, tough on you but that's for you to fix.
How unprofessional do you want to be perceived in your customer base? I am days away from moving my loyalty to another supplier. Immediate response to this forum is requested.
Thanks,
Wolfram
