Idiotic square message box in lower right corner "Deep Scan is running" cannot be removed

This is extremely annoying. There is no way to get rid of the idiotic black square message box in the lower right of the screen that says “Deep Scan is running” - the ONLY option is to click See Details, and then when you close Details the stupid box reappears. And I cannot get a screen shot of it, once you try to do a screen shot it goes away, then reappears when you close the screen capture screen.

It appears that the program does not properly determine the screen parameters, and then it displays the notification screen in the lower right corner too far to the right, so the right side of the message box, where the X to close the box is, is simply off the screen.

And pressing alt-f4 to close it doesn’t seem to work either since you can’t really even select the message box to make it active.

After installing an update to the program, and rebooting, it seems to be working now. Not sure if just rebooting would have fixed it.

Just in the past couple of days, an AVG icon shows in lower-right of the screen, above windows taskbar and above the time/date. If it halfways off the screen and cut off. I can’t click it to see what it is. Repair didnt work. Something with an update gone wrong. AVG Support are you here? Please fix issue!
I have it showing on all my systems above the windows taskbar on right side of screen.

Have you rebooted the systems? It must be something related to AVG program not having the correct screen resolution. It hasn’t been a problem on my systems lately.

Yep multiple reboots. Repair avg as well.

AVG may have a utility program to completely remove all traces of the program, then do a clean install after that. Make sure anything you find is on the AVG website and not some third party thing that shows up in search.

It may have or does have an Uninstaller utility?

No, most all programs have a regular ‘uninstall’ option, but some security programs in particular have an extra utility, that most people will never need, that really goes through the process and makes sure that every file and registry connection is removed. I am just an end user, but I think I’ve explained it about right. It is up to you to search using google or post another topic asking about it on AVG. I did a quick search and it looks like it is available, but it could be an outdated thing. At least you know about it now, it is up to you if you want to investigate it or not.
