IDP Generic Whitelisted

Hello,

Can you please tell me if the chat program called Second Life is safe to use please. I have previously had no problems using Second Life before, but when this program updated itself, AVG came up with a warning message saying that the slplugin.exe is IDP Generic Whitelisted. I have since followed AVG's advice and quarantined this file, but I was wondering if this is a false positive.

Hello Gulam,

Thank you for getting back to me. The AVG program I am using is the AVG AntiVirus Free version. As for where I downloaded the Second Life program, I downloaded it from their official website, which is: Downloads | Second Life. I have even tried reinstalling the Second Life program, which was again downloaded from their official website, but I still receive the IDP Generic Whitelisted warning message from AVG.

Hello Paul,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
May I know the name of the AVG Program installed on your system?
Are you using free or paid version of AVG product?
Have you downloaded the "Second Life program" from the trusted website?
Thank you.

Hello Paul,
Thank you for replying us back, please let us know whether you have received the message frequently while opening the Second life Chat program? If you are sure about the legitimacy of the program you can add the program to the exception list. Please follow the instructions on the article http://avgread.me/18WB2dg to add the program to the exception list.
Thank you.

Hello Gulam,

The IDP Generic Whitelisted message only started after Second Life updated itself today. Previously, I have had no problems using Second Life up until their recent update, so it does seem like the update is causing a false positive with AVG. In which case, I will follow your advice and move the slplugin.exe into the exception list.

Thank you for your help.
