Ignore doesn't ignore?

I'm just wondering whether there is something I'm missing. If I get a prompt about a false positive and select ignore AVG still prevents me from accessing the file. Only once it's added to the exceptions list does the retardation stop and I can use the file as I want. Is this AV really that stupid these days?

Not an option.
These are game trainers (executable files which hack a game's code to give me extra money or lives or ammo or whatever) keyed to my system exclusively. I can't share them.

It's the free version. I know it's perhaps a bit demanding to expect support if I'm not paying anything, but I'd never consider getting one of the paid versions if this is how the program acts.

Yes. Disabling AVG temporarily or adding the file to the exclusions list renders it usable again, so I doesn't quite ruin everything, but it's still highly annoying that ignore only amounts to not removing the file rather than completely ignoring the file for that PC use session which is how I'd expect a function named 'ignore' to work.

If AVG behaved for "confirmed" viruses the way it did for potentially unwanted programs and allowed me to allow the file and automatically added it to the exclusion list if I wanted it's behaviour would be ideal. But as it is it's completely pointless until I've created an extensive exclusion list from a full PC scan, and I'm not sure I'm willing to go to that much effort when more intelligent alternatives may be out there.
