Hello Sue,
Thank you for reaching AVG Support Community.
I sincerely apologize for the difficulties you are currently experiencing.
Please let us know the version of the AVG Internet Security on your PC.
To check that open your AVG Interner Security > Menu > About.
Please temporarily turn off the Enhanced firewall and check whether you're able to access the files on the shared folder. If yes, let us know and update us through this post.
Also, please share the screenshot of the pop-up notification which you receive from AVG.
Thank you,
Having searched for answers including on here, none of them work for me. I have a computer (B) that attempts to connect to a folder I have shared on another computer (A). They both have AVG IS installed. Computer A will show me that an incoming connection was blocked, showing a valid internal ip address (of computer B). Computer B cannot access the shared folder. On Computer A I have gone into the Menu, Full Protection, Enhanced Firewall and enabled Internet Connection Sharing mode. Restarted the computer and still Computer B cannot access computer A. When I disable AVG on computer A, then I can access the folder on it. The Network profile is Private. Please help. Thank you.

Hello
So the Software version is 21.5.3185 (build 21.5.6354.679)
and UI version: 1.0.615
When I turn off Enhanced Firewall, I still cannot access the files - in fact I get another pop-up.

Hello Sue,
Thank you for sharing the screenshot.
Remote Access Shield allows you to control which IP addresses are allowed to connect remotely to your PC, and blocks all unauthorized connection attempts.
By default, Remote Access Shield blocks the following connections:
Connections from high-risk IP addresses.
Connections that attempt to use known vulnerabilities in Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol, such as BlueKeep.
Brute-force attacks that work by repeatedly trying to log in to your system with commonly used or stolen login credentials.
Is your device connected in a network with other devices? Is the request initiated from a known device?
Thank you and please keep us updated.
Sue, this might happen when the device try to communicate with other devices on the same network.
If this request is coming from an outside device, you can be assured that AVG has blocked the attempt.
We have sent you an email asking you to connect with our AVG remote technician and please revert to that email for further help.
Thank you.

Yes, both computers are on the same network with other devices. The ip address shown in the blocked message is correct - it is the ip address of the computer initiating the request. When I turn off AVG IS, I can access the files from computer B located on computer A. How can I allow access with AVG IS turned on? Thank you.
