This error is generally caused, if the old traces of AVG is not removed properly. We suggest you to run the remover tool again and then install AVG free.
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link: http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3) Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
NOTE: Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C: drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.

I get "The procedure entry point_crtCreateSymbolicLinkW could not be located in the dynamic link library
C\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP110.dll."
The MSVCP110.dll is in the directory. I've uninstalled AVG Free with the AVG Removal Tool and still can't install AVG Free? This all started when it tried to update.
I've done that twice now and it didn't work. I still get the same error as noted above

We are sorry to know that the issue persists.
This problem is caused by Visual C++ Redistributables. It is either missing or corrupted.
It is necessary to reinstall MSVC package from the website: http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=30679. Please install all the three packages and check if that fix the issue.
