Thank you for providing us the information. Make sure that no third party antivirus program is installed on your PC. Then run our AVG clear and remover tool (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product) to remove the traces of AVG and then try to reinstall our AVG Free application and let us know if it resolves the issue.
