Will AVG be creating soem sort of workaround to allow itunes to install from scratch without having to remove AVG first ?
With AVG Installed the iTunes Standalone Installer fails within a few seconds of allowing the iTunes Installer to make changes to the Computer. I find when AVG Installed and "Protection is OFF", the same Error Condition occurs!
My Workaround was to Temporarly Uninstall AVG, run the iTunes Installer and then re-Install AVG
Using the iTunes Standalone Installer for Upgrades also fails, although allowing Apple's Upgrade Utility to complete the Downloading and Upgrade works???
Dan, did you ever find out what the problem was?
Jon
Has anyone had difficulty installing Apple iTunes. Apple is suggesting that AVG is the reason why the installation cannot complete and despite turning off security and the firewall, the install still failed. The issue appears to be that certain components that are necessary for iTunes to function are not getting installed even though they are in the downloaded file. One suggestion made by Apple is to completely remove AVG and try the install but before attempting that, I wanted to see if anyone in the community has a similar issue with an Apple Product.

I followed both approaches to disabling AVG temporarily making sure that all of the components were disabled and then downloaded iTunes. The product downloaded, went through the standard installation process and then iTunes failed for the very same reasons as before. Is that another solution recommended.

Hello Larry,
Thank you for sharing your workaround here.
Jack,
Pleased to see that you appear to be sorted now. Thanks for returning to the Community & posting. We appreciate all your efforts and patience in trying to fix the issue. Please feel free to get back to us for any issues with AVG. We work round the clock, thank you!
Hello Jon,
Please install iTunes as suggested by Larry in his post.
Even if AVG is disabled temporarily some of the components will be running in the background that might block the updates or installation of any application.
Hence the fix can be done by uninstalling AVG and installing the application that was blocked and it is necessary to install AVG again to check whether it blocks the application after installation.
Dan,
We feel sorry to know that the issue persists, we appreciate your efforts. We would like to inform you that AVG won't conflict with any other application when it is disabled. In this case, we request yout o contact your Apple Support or you can check this by uninstall AVG, install your itune applications and reinstall AVG. Thank you for your understanding!
