Please be informed that AVG 2016 can be installed in Windows XP Service pack 3 and higher operating system. If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 1 or Windows XP Service Pack 2 we request you to upgrade your operating system to get it installed. Thank you for understanding.

We understand how something like this can really try your patience.
To install AVG in your pc, we request you to run AVG remover tool it will remove all the traces of AVG and then install AVG Antivirus free in your pc. To run AVG remover tool for AVG Antivirus please follow the below steps :
Please click on the below link to download remover tool
http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
Accept the license agreement and then choose AVG Product and remove it.
NOTE: Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the drive where you installed this tool and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually.

I am using Windows XP professional  Version 2000 Sevice pack 3. Yes I got "Event Exec_ finished  "

When I try to install AVG free it gets aborted with error message  0xC0070643. Kindly help

I am using windows XP. I have tried the above steps but the installation again failed. same error message. I used this file for installation.
 http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Antivirus_Free_x86_694.exe.

With installtion file AVG_Antivirus_Free_692.exe.

Khalid, With Win XP are you using SP3?. On the error message are you also seeing Description: Event exec_finished?.
