Even after disabling AVG and restarting, I still can't open Internet Explorer :confused:

The other day, I purchased and installed AVG protection for my computer, and since then, Internet Explorer will not open.  I click on the icon, it flashes and then stops - it does nothing, not even open.  I've tried turning internet explorer off and then back on.  I've tried seeing if it is the AVG firewall - I turned it off, reset, tried IE, turned it back on.  Firefox and Chrome still work, but I cannot get Internet Explorer to work.  What should I do?

Please be informed that once AVG is disabled all the component in AVG will be inactive and since you are unable to open Internet Explorer when AVG is disabled, the issue is not with AVG.
