I've used the free AVG service for 2 years. About 3 weeks ago they upgraded or changed things up & now call it AVG Antivirus Free. I'm in this free trial period for full protection that expires in 11 days. I wouldn't mind paying for it except my Internet has become very slow, and also any emails with images are very slow to load up. This has only been happening since this latest update and "trial" thing began.
I checked if others were having similar problems and followed the advice. Mainly it seems AVG advises users to go into the control panel and choose the repair option. I've done this 4 times and although it quickens things up for the next hour or so, it goes back to the slowness. I've also tried refreshing my browser, Firefox, twice now which resets other things & I have to spend time getting it back the way I want.
Does anyone know if its the latest version of AVG that's causing this, or if its only the things in the free trial that are causing the huge slow downs? Do I just have to wait out the next 11 days and my Internet will go back to the normal speed? I've noticed this thing called a TLS handshake that I've never seen prior to this latest AVG update that might be the culprit. Sometimes it takes 2 to 3 minutes for a web page to load up. Most annoying!
Like I said I wouldn't mind buying the program if it worked at loading web pages at normal speed, but I don't want to pay for a slowball service.
Will this Internet loading still be slow even after the 11 days when I'm assuming those extras will stop working or uninstall themselves. Is it the new version of AVG free antivirus causing the super slow loading of web pages or is it the extras included in the 30 day free trial version?
