Does this issue occurred only after installing AVG?

You can also try disabling AVG protection and check the WiFi signal.

Please follow the below steps to disable AVG protection:

1. Right-click the AVG icon in the system tray next to the clock.
2. Move the slider to temporarily disable AVG.

I have AVG internet security installed on my computer.  I have a low WiFi connection and need to get a repeater.  Will there be a problem?

What I meant was that I have poor wifi reception.  I was told to purchase a repeater to get better reception.  I want to know if I use a repeater will I still be able to use my internet security without any problems.

Yes, you can still use your AVG Internet Security program if you use repeater for your WiFi.
