Message saying virus definitions outdated, but can't update, restarted computer with no luck

could not uninstall AVG as computer could not find it in uninstall apps
, you could see it but did nothing when you pressed uninstall. From my account tried to install it from there, downloaded it but when I tried to run it it disappeared.
When to avg.com and installed it from there. Will see how it goes. Not sure what has gone wrong as I have not installed any new programs.

I am glad that the AVG program is working well after the reinstallation.
I believe the virus definitions are updated after the reinstallation.
Subsequent to the uninstallation, you have informed there is no file size displayed in Mega bytes for the AVG app and only blank space being left. I would like to have few clarifications. Have you checked the uninstallation by visiting the Control panel or via the Apps and Features option?
Please help us with screenshot of the uninstallation screen of the AVG app that you noticed, it will help us have a better clarity.You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on Answer & then click on the Image [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Since I reinstalled AVG from avg.com it appears to be working well, BUT, when I go into uninstall apps,
the app is there but unlike all the other visible apps, there is no content as all say so many mega bites but with avg this is blank ???
