…um, that doesn't really answer the original question.
Not much point in re-installing if its just going to get eventually blocked again if there is a fixed trial period. Already tried the remover, re-installation still fails. This is using the FULL installer at http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/Antivirus_Free_x64_1818.exe as its on a Win7 x64 PC with no native internet access. Offline 'update from directory' is no longer supported, so its totally redundant anyway.
I'm tired of the increasing number of problems and now deliberate barriers. Time to give Avast Free a look, been seeing that in a few places where there was originally AVG.
Aren't they your new Masters?
Silly question, is AVG Free still 'free' for the entire year, or does it now come with a fixed 30 day trial?
Got a large 'BUY NOW' banner completely blocking access to settings and options after a forced internet 'update' last night. Don't remember any 'options' about a trail during installation, can't confirm of course as re-installation after uninstallation is also blocked…
Another nail in the coffin.
