Ive been advised to turn off AVG to establish whether it is preventing my computer accessing the software update for the operating system, which is on Big Sur 11.6.2. The 'checking for updates wheel' is just round and round and round and never finding it. Internet connection no problem anywhere else on computer. Tried turning off and on but no joy. so How do I turn of AVG?

May I know how you confirm that AVG prevents your Mac OS updates?
AVG program will not conflict with the operating system of the compatible devices or its regular OS updates.
If you would like to disable the AVG protection, you may have to manually enter all the shields and turn off the slider.
