hi, i have followed all  of the steps above yet still have the AVGuirna detail showing in my start up tab of task manager, how do i remove this

Thanks John, I was having the same problem. Your answer works perfectly (I also found some other AVG entries left in the Registry that the AVG_Remover didn't remove)

In my task manager on the startup tab I have a process called avguirna.  I am wondering if it is a virus because I've looked online at other websites and some say it's a virus and some don't.  I have completely uninstalled avg to see if that had an effect and I've ran multiple scans with windows defender but it didn't pick up anything.  I have done a full PC search for associated files and found nothing.  In the task manager it's only showing up as a startup program and isn't in any other tabs.
