Is dsc.zoremov.com a threat?

Hi John,

We aren't sure with the exact issue.

Can you share us the screenshot of the files which has been flagged as threat?

You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Hi,
I was having the exact same problem. Start up with dsc.zoremov.com
I also noticed ads popping up that were never there before.
Then I realized, I had just installed an app called ZipProfessor.
I just uninstalled it and as I was uninstalling, it said…Uninstalling dsc.zoremov.com
Now i am free of it!
So, if you have recently installed anything, that is probably what is causing the dsc.zoremov.com
upon startup. Just uninstall the app and you should be good!

When I launch Microsoft Edge, it is diverting via Google to dsc.zoremov.com instead of the default Google home page I have specified. This started yesterday when I downloaded Filecoach from a teaching resource site - AVG flagged a threat and quarantined IDP. Generic.
It doesn't seem to affect Google Chrome, but I am suspicious.
Does anyone know if this is a threat and how to remove it.
The program Filecoach was listed in programs added and Zoremov is the publisher. I tried to remove it but it said 'error' but removed it from list of programs.

John, it is always better to check and confirm whether our PC is safe when we get browser redirects.
We request you to get connected with our additional support who can help you to resolve this browser redirects issue.
An email instruction has been sent which will help you to get connected with them.
If the email is not found in inbox, do check on spam and junk folders.
Thank you.
Hi Avanash
Thanks for your helpful answer, but I have already tried both repair and reset for MS Edge and it has not worked. Any other suggestions?
Do you think this is a serious security threat (i.e. trying to steal passwords etc) or is it just a marketing ploy and nuisance?
John

The exact same thing has happend to me, but it has also corrupted some of the websites i frequently use which is very annoying as i know connot do much. I am very confused as to what i did to make this take over my computer can anyone help?

I have the same issues - I have tried to reset my home page on Microsoft Explorer but it defaults to dsc.zoremov.com each time. I tried installing a wireless bird box camera and the paperwork requested ISPY programme be installed - AVG blocked it and quarantined it but I cannot get back to my original default search to access all my favourites. It is very frustrating

Anastasia H - Where did you find ZipProfessor on your hard drive?

I'm nort sure how to save a screenshot  but the description in Quarantine is
IDP.Generic in  c:\users\John\AppDat... P000.TMP\kernel.exe

When I open Microsoft Edge it opens a new tab with the URL starting dsc.zoromov.com/.... If I then select home in Google it goes back to the normal home page. If I delete the url it just comes back next time. I've done several scans and nothing comes up.

Hi John,

John, appreciate your efforts to provide as many details as possible.

This looks like a browser redirect issue. Web Browser Redirects are typically causes by adware programs or unwanted browser extensions and addons. These types of programs are either installed manually or are bundled with free programs that you download from the Internet.

These free programs include "offers" that install unwanted programs that modify your web browser's behavior. This is why it is very important that you always check all settings and prompts when installing free software from the Internet.

I'd request you to reset Microsoft edge as described below to resolve this issue:

1. Click Start (Windows logo on home screen) and click on Settings. Next, under the Apps and features section, search for Microsoft Edge.
2. Now click on the Advanced options link to open the following window.
3. Select the Reset button. Windows will reset your Edge browser settings, keeping your Favorites intact – but you may lose other Edge data.

You are most welcome, John.
Thank you for understanding.
