Is there an easy way to see whether VPN is ON or OFF

Hello Roselle, 

We are glad to clarify you request. We do not have shortcut to check the VPN status. To know ON/OFF status, we need to open AVG Secure VPN program. As you do want to stay ON with VPN, ensure the below settings are in place for AVG Secure VPN to turn on automatically whenever you connect to internet.

1. Double-click the AVG Secure VPN icon on your Windows desktop to open the application.
2. Go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
3. Select Network Security in the left panel.
4. Under Turn on the VPN, tick the box next to Automatically when connected to the Internet.
5. Ensure the box next to Exclude Trusted (private) networks is unticked.

Now restart your PC and verify if AVG Secure VPN is turned on automatically or not.

I have VPN as a shortcut icon at the bottom of the screen so that I can quickly access.  Is it possible for the hover text for the icon to show whether VPN is ON or OFF. At the moment it just says -> AVG Secure VPN. 

What I'm finding is that sometimes I reboot my PC and after that VPN is turned Off. I often don't notice for a while before checking by opening up VPN which is a pain.

Or is there another way to easily see whether VPN is ON or OFF?
