I purchased AVG "protection" which I wasn't familiar with, by responding to prompts after a pop up about a year and a half ago.  Paid for a 1 year membership/license online for around $55.  … Followed, or thought I followed the instructions given to successfully install it on my home pc.  Also learned from a bank statement about a year later they hit my bankcard again for an annual renewal last fall.  I knew I hadn't asked for that but didn't complain, thinking I had it installed and running.

I recently encountered some slow problems and tried to contact AVG when I found that trying to run an AVG cleanup determined it was NOT INSTALLED.  Tried to reach AVG by the customer service number showing on their website and reached IYOGI instead!

They sold me on a year of their service for $149 which they said would include installing AVG from the license number I provided them - among other things.

IYOGI told me AVG verified my license key but IYOGI's checking showed it apparantly never installed due to a conflict with other security software, although I wouldn't have known this otherwise.  They said they had AVG software up and running now.  With help from an IYOGI tech I managed to reach AVG's customer service messaging and asked for an extension of my AVG service expiration date, since I had paid for it and followed the install instructions but apparantly never had it, – only to receive some kind of automated response saying it wasn't their problem.

Now when I tried running an AVG diagnostic (3 weeks after paying IYOGI to activate and install AVG,) the diagnostic window tries to sell me the service saying my "trial period" is over!  Trying to reach AVG results in a response saying I have no account with them.
