Yes, AVG Watchdog service and AVG Identity protection are the services of AVG Antivirus program.

A watchdog is a device used to protect a system from specific software or hardware failures that may cause the system to stop responding. The application is first registered with the watchdog device. Once the watchdog is running on your system the application must periodically send information to the watchdog device, so when AVG antivirus is installed, AVG Watchdog service will be running constantly inorder to check for any conflicting antivirus program and other applications.

I installed AVG FREE yesterday and I notice that these two services came along with it and are running in the background.  Are these services…"Watchdog" and "Identity Protection" a part of the AVG FREE software?

I'm confused now.  I just read the "Software Analyzer" section you suggested in the AVG PDF file  and it had "Identity Protection" in "AVG INTERNET SECURITY" which is not included in the Free version.

Sorry, recently Identity protection component name was changed to "Software Analyzer" and on free version you should find "Software Analyzer" circle.
What are the circles that you can find on the "AVG Free antivirus" dashboard?

Thanks for your reply.  These are the circles in AVG FREE:  
"Computer" "Web"  "Software" and "Email".
When I click the "Software" circle, I see "Software Analyzer" and it is enabled.  So, that's Identity protection then.  Great.
