I've had more problems with AVG VPN than any other VPN, by far. AVG VPN has stopped working, again

My AVG VPN service has stopped working again, but this time has not been fixed with any restarts of the service, restarts of the computer, reinstallation of the VPN, change of DNS settings according to existing advice, confirmation of Windows Defender firewall permissions…

I would hope for a refund but I'm betting that AVG doesn't care enough about that. Most solutions I've seen have involved AVG asking for DM rather than posting a confirmed, workable solution. Is there any hope out there?
