AVG has been adding more and more stuff to their basic Inet security & avirus. To be honest, I was not very thrilled at first as the interface got more complex and confusing. BUT…
I was experiencing more and more time lags in Explorer (taking a long time to open up etc), random lags when typing and about 10 - 30 minutes of startup time. (W7Pro/AVG Ultimate). Workarounds (turning PC on before having breakfast, accepting slo-mo Explorer opening. But the time lags in typing came to a point my PC was getting unusable. Tried all the usual tools, but no joy. Was looking at a Win7 re-install. Then AVG tune up began bitching about stuff, and I thought 'why the heck not?'. A pity I didn't take notice of everything that it was doing, because I honestly didn't believe it would make an impact.
What I wanted to share is that after AVG did it's thing my PC suddenly was running like it was freshly installed! Very brilliant! So if you're having issues, don't hesitate to give it a try…
