Lack of Updates - Loosing faith in AVG

Hi Christy.
We're sorry for the inconvenience caused.
There was a fix released for this recently, but unfortunately, the issue recurred. Our developers are not working diligently for a permanent fix.
Appreciate your patience.
Regarding AVG Secure Browser, please reset the browser settings to default to resolve this issue.

To reset your AVG Secure Browser settings:

Open AVG Secure Browser.
Click ⋮ Menu (three dots) in the top-right corner of the screen, then select Settings.
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen, and click Advanced.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen again and click Restore settings to their original defaults, then select Reset settings to confirm.

Manually update it and it won't bother you again. AVG is way better than many of the antivirus softwares out there. Don't lose faith in it.

Again two days without updates. Any comments?

You are welcome, Gordon.

Thanks again for your help Sarath. I will keep looking at the AVG main user Interface as you suggest. My current details which have not changed for 2 days at least, show the following details on the main user Interface:
Oct 18 2919 3-35pm
ver.  191018-6
Thanks again for keeping me updated Sarath
Gordon

I have used AVG for many years, and until recently I was happy. With the current lack of updates I am loosing faith in AVG. My current licence expires this coming December and I am seriously considering not continuing using AVG. The company seems incapable of fixing the lack of regular updates in recent  weeks.
I would love to be advised the problem has been sorted

Thanks for your reply. I sincerely hope the update issue of many weeks has now been repaired and back to normal.

Gordon, what was the last scan run status before you ran the recent scan? Did you start the virus scan by clicking on 'Scan computer' on main interface?

Wayne, we realize the situation on your part.
Our developers team are working towards it and soon they will find the exact cause of the issue. We appreciate your patience.

Sorry I added the above too quickly. It has last updated 2 days ago. The version is 191016-6, dated Oct 16 9:45am. It does dot give me confidence it is working correctly.
Gordon

Thanks Sarath. I am not an expert on computer issues, and the jargon. Will it be obvious to me when I can the updates definitions become more frequent on the screen ?

Whilst waiting I run the scan again, and it now shows the scan at 14 minutes ago. I would be grateful for a progress update on the main problem of showing updates of the Virus Definitions, thank you, Gordon

Piotr, could you perform the virus definitions updates and mention the date that is displayed?
If it says as 2 or 3 days ago, then we have to collect logs and escalate it for analysis.

Gordon, this issue has been resolved now.
I'd request to uninstall AVG Internet Security using AVG Clear tool and reinstall it.
Click this link for steps to download and run AVG Clear tool.
Then, reinstall it as per the instructions in this link.

Gordon, we are aware of this issue and our developers are working for a fix.

I am afraid to inform you that we do not have an option to send emails when the issue is fixed. But you need not worry, the virus defintions will be fixed in streaming updates in AVG Interface.

As I wrote (above) can I assume the updates problem is now sorted ? I would also be interested in a response to my 2nd question (above)
Thanks,  Gordon

Hi, I have the same problem (updates frozen at 10/16/19 4:45AM ET) and a thread below on this same issue says that it's not resolved and developers are working on it. Which is correct? I'm not comfortable uninstalling/reinstalling and I don't have time to do it (I have to get to work). At the same time, my AVG Secure Browser is buggy. When I start the pc it auto-opens in multiple windows, grinding my CPU to a halt. I can't use it now in case it's been infected with something in the last few days that AVG can't detect. Not fun to think about. Please escalate this issue to #1. Thank you

Gordon, we would like to clarify that the virus definitions update issue discussed on this post is not yet resolved.
We assure you that the program is receiving virus definitions updates on daily basis.
The date appearing on the program is actually incorrect.
Our developers are working on a fix and it is expected to get released soon.
We appreciate your patience in the interm.

Hello, can I now assume the regular updates is now working ?
I also received an email from AVG asking about their performance. Ironically I answered Yes then to receive a message the system was not working
