Logging Application Has Stopped Working

Do you see the message as 'You are protected' in your AVG Internet Security program window? Thank you.

Have Win7 Professional, AVG Internet Security and last night did an AVG update (popped up bottom right hand corner of monitor, as it does periodically). This morning on boot-up had the error message
"loggings Application has stopped working"
Typed into Google search and one response stated an AVG issue! Any thoughts by anyone?
Is the AVG connection a 'red herring'?
So far no obvious effect on application access or performance etc.
