Loss of Internet Connection

Hello Nadia,
We regret for the inconvenience caused. We would request you to know whether you have installed AVG free or a paid version on your system  and also mention your product name to assist further? Thank you.

Hello,

So I've seen a couple of topics similar kicking around, but I couldn't find a solution… After downloading, i completely lost internet access. it shows that it is connected, and my other devices are all connected. All the error message says (I'm using Chrome, but I tried IE too) says "There is no Internet Connection, your computer is offline.  try: checking the network cable, router, etc (it's not that), or reconnecting to wifi".
Ive  tried uninstalling all I could of AVG, I've gone through multiple restarts and resets, troubleshooting, resetting the network adapter. nothing.

Ive also tested the Ethernet cable to the computer and I still receive the same message.

ive seen people suggest downloading clean up tools but to download anything and to GET to the cleanup tool I need a connection…

I'm a bit at my wit's end, especially because my knowledge of computers is pretty limited and I really really need it back and running. I'm not too sure what else to do. Please advice! Thank you!

Hi! Thank you for the response!

I had installed the free version! I'm assuming it was the latest one - I think AVG Zen, but I'm not too sure. When it first installed, it sent some files it flagged as questionable into the vault. I'm sorry that I don't remember the exact wording, but some files were isolated. at this point, I still had my connection. afterwards, I tried updating the virus definitions, and it suggested the PC Tune Up software and when it tried to take me to the webpage, that's when the connection was lost.

It was for PC - if relevant, sorry if it's not, it is Alienware 14 - and I had gone through the steps presented to me after you click the "download" link on the home page. I'm sorry that it's not much in the way of details…

Hello Nadia,
Thank you for the detailed information. Plesae disable the AVG Program temporarily(including firewall) in your computer and see if you are able to access internet. If you still have issue, we suggest you to restore the files that were removed by AVG as threat. Please click on this link for the steps to disable AVG temporarily. http://avgclick.me/TempDisableAVG
