MAC address has changed

Hi John,

We understand your concern, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please attach us the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the message that you get to assist you better.

Thank you!

Under what circumstances does this message come up?  Although my ISP Gateway hasn't changed and the NIC inside it hasn't changed, AVG thinks my MAC address has.  Could this be from some outside hacker??  If so, how do I find out, before going to sensitive sites while "anything I do online may be visible to others."

When I connect to my home network I am getting a message from AVG that brings up the network name, then says: "Its MAC address has changed since you last connected. If you've connected to a fake network, anything you do online may be visible to others."

My ISP assures me that my MAC address has not changed. Do I need to worry?  Is this just some artifact?  I can't seem to find anything on AVG support except to suggest I get a VPN.

Thanks for any help.

I created the jpg as instructed. I'm not sure if it inserted correctly into the above answer.

That's the question - do I trust this network?  Is this message telling me that someone has spoofed my MAC address or something like that?

Hi John,

Thank you for providing us the Screenshots. Could you please confirm once if you have clicked on "I Trust This Network"? If not, please click on it once and then check again.

Thank you!
