Mac VPN activation problem

I was told the free triel does not need to be activated and only the paid version can be activated. So technically, the free trial does absolutely nothing at all apart from be installed on my computer. The 'free trial' doesnt have any benefits at all, so as far as I have been told.
I have now cancelled my trial version yet again and bought the paid monthly subscription. However, I still cant activate it and have been told that I need to wait 24-48 hours for it to be processed at your end. Yet the confirmation email says that it will be activated within a couple of minutes.
There is absolutely no consistency and a complete lack of customer satisfaction. So I must wait up to 48 hours, yet Im sure it will renew on the date I subscribed, which means I will lose out on at least 2 days of paid time.
I'm not convinced it will even be active in 48 hours, which will mean I will have to waste my work break yet again to contact you for the 3rd time about the same issue which you just make excuses for and not actually help in any way and are unable to solve

I downloaded the trial for my MacBook air and my iMac. I got the confirmation email, but when I installed it and tried to log in to activate, it says I don't have a license.
I contacted support and was asked to wait 24 hours, which I did and still could not activate it.
Again, I contacted support who then cancelled my order and asked me to rejoin with he trial again. I did this and have not even received confirmation this time.
Why offer a free trial when your systems don't work as they should? You should offer customers an additional month free as compensation for something that seems like a complete waste of time. There doesn't seem to be a problem if a customer pays for it, but then there is nothing but hassle when trying to activate a free trial.

Well I have now waited 72 hours and it’s still not activated. It’s now been escalated to the senior team a couple of days ago and I’ve still heard nothing. You guys are useless
