Hi David,
I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. I would like to inform you that this is a bug which our developers were aware of and working on a fix.
You could also consider to go to Settings -> Application, in Malwarebytes and at the bottom, under Windows Action Center, set the option to "Never register Malwarebytes in the Windows Action Center". Then you should be able to get AVG out of Passive mode.
After AVG updated this week, it went into Passive Mode due to the message that I have a paid up Malwarebytes and that your software will clash with others and to remove.
As I have had both software running side by side for over 10years and your recent update is now causing this find this shocking to know that you do not want other parties software running due to it being in competition to you and forcing to remove others software.
Your software has never covered the area that Malwarebytes does and that was the reason for there software on my pc to catch such as worms, Trojans etc.
I have just renewed my Malwarebytes and still have a year to run on AVG and as previously indicated have both worked hand in hand for years to force me to remove someone else software so that yours will function and to then be forced to buy your product is unacceptable.
I wish to hear from you and not just to say you cannot have to software running together as they have before and just remove it.
I will seriously consider AVG product in future if this is the approach you are taking.
Regards
David
