I purchased a new computer and now on start-up I get an avg notification that "Microsoft Edge has awaken" and a pop up asking if I want Microsoft Edge as my default browser.  How do I stop this? I use Chrome as my default browser.

Never mind.  But of course, now that I want it to pop up, it won't,  Maybe I resolved with with a Windows update and a reboot??!!
