After calling and getting an AVG rep on the phone, they claimed to have no idea about this problem and without asking me to do a single troubleshooting step, wanted remote access to my laptop, which I consider complete overkill and refused. I suggested they simply instruct me what to do and I would carry out those instructions. AVG refused. What this tells me is that my problem is a known issue, which AVG refuses to acknowledge and furthermore it tells me my anti-virus and anti-threat is not up to speed. I only visit very mainstream sites so having a virus would be very odd. I’m a long time AVG user and every time I open Chrome, I’m reminded of the complete failure of AVG support.
