Hi Vincent. Thank you for taking the time to communicate with AVG. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.
Specific to your concern, to connect to your home server, without disruption when using AVG Secure VPN, I suggest creating a VPN bypass route, which will help resolve your concern.
The following AVG self help article, How to set up a VPN bypass route to disable your VPN connection for selected IP addresses or websites | AVG, provides detailed instruction to exclude a server/website, so you may use your physical IP address when connecting to said server/website, while using AVG Secure VPN.
Good luck. Let us know how this works for you. Regards, Shawn
Hello, I use a NAS drive (home server), which is connected to my router.
Normally if I am connected to the router I can access the drive and open the files on it.
But if I switch VPN on, the drive cannot be found anymore.
Is there a way that it can find the NAS drive
I know it can be done as I bought Nord VPN a year before I bought AVG.
I am very happy with AVG so far, but don't like to pay another company for the VPN, but I do need to access my NAS drive.
I hope there is a solution for it.
Thanks Vincent
Hi Vincent,
We are here to help.
Did you get any error message when you try to access the drive?
Could you mention the current Geo location?
Keep us posted.

When the VPN is on I get the following:
I can access the drive when I am on the same network. Normally never a problem, but AVG VPN doen's reconize my drive if it is on.
To keep my pc safe for hacker by using VPN, I am unable to use my drive. Which at the moment I use avg for all security, except for VPN. To use VPN I have to make use of Nord.
I hope you can resolve fthis matter, as it seems stupid to pay twice for VPN.
Thanks Vincent
