Network inspector

I use updated avg free on my Chromebook OS, check it daily, network inspector has never worked since installing awhile back…I went to settings cleared cache/storage and force stop…restarted…finally received a "failed scan"…after that nothing…Chromebook is always up to date, other settings work, do not use VPN.
