This latest version contains many new features and you can view the user manual by going to AVG->Menu->Help. However, I will take your feedback and escalate to our developers. They will work on it in upcoming updates.

I've been a user of AVG Free for many years and always been very impressed.
Today I downloaded the latest version on my partner's notebook and the first scan has now been running for 11 (yes, eleven) hours and is only at 64%.
I'm very disappointed to see that there's no option to pause the scan (which is a horrendous consumer of the notebook's ability to perform another task while the scan is running) and using the programme is not consumer friendly.
I have used the paid AVG version on another computer in the past but this experience with the new Free version has REALLY put me off.
Paying customer lost.
