No what I am saying is I tried to set up AVG on a laptop that recently crashed and when I open the email to add the device it is telling me the product is no longer allowed.
It is listed on the Subscriptions page but it is saying its a product that is no longer available. The Ultimate is working on my other devices.

Do you mean to say that your AVG Ultimate product is not listed on subscriptions tab when logged into AVG my account?
Why did I pay $100 if I can't add all my devices?

I understand your concern. Please uninstall old traces of AVG completely from your computer by following the steps from this link:
