Hello Patrick,
Yes, we do not have "Schedule Scan" option in AVG Antivirus for Mac. Unfortunately, there is no option to run it overnight.
We will take this as a feedback and escalate your suggestion to our developers team. They will check and work on it. Thank you for your understanding.
I downloaded the free version of AVG AntiVirus for Mac and was surprised to find no "Scheduled Scan" option. Even AVG Free for Windows has that!
Is there some way to automate scans so they happen overnight? It seems ludicrous that in this day and age I'd have to manually start a virus scan before going to bed! I've got an old 2009 iMac running OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), which is the absolute last version of the OS that can be installed on this model.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
