Non-removal of AdWare

At presnt this torcho thing is the most annoying problem, it blocks everything I attempt to do because AVG blocks the activity but the browser is then rendered unusable.

I've made this General because frankly I don't have a clue which product should be working the problem. I just returned to AVG after dabbling with Defender! and I'm wondering if I've just been conned out of £70 I have subscribed to the Pro suite apart from the VPN product but am still plagued by Adware pop ups and redirects when I attempt to use any browser.

An AVG scan of ALL file types isolated 7 medium risk files and yet I'm still infected. AVG blocks redirects but does not identify the root cause making the browser redundant.

MyAVG is central to the Zen thing which right now feels like a marketing con and yet any attempt to access MyAVG results in blocked Adware redirects the moment I type in the Name field of the browser?

Any thought welcome, right now I'm thinking that only a rebuild will work.

Thanks in advance

Tom,
Please note that these kind of tool bars and search engines get into the computer along with some other software or if we visit any untrustworthy websites accidentally. I would request you to uninstall unknown add ons from your web browsers. Please right click on the desktop shortcuts of your web browsers, click on Properties, check the 'Target' field. It should be “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” for IE and “C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe”  for Chrome. Please check and remove if any other text is added to this path.  Thank you.

AVG Guru

Hi Avinash,

Agreed and I did all of these things - I have gotten the problem under control with the free download of malwarebytes which was recommended by my son and which identified and removed 104 objects whilst AVG Pro was reporting none. Torcho took another pass and something continues to "dial out" on logging but is blocked again by malwarebytes.

One annoying object was the AVG Search plug in which also presented a bunch of "sponsors" along the  bottom of my display, display real estate which frankly I don't expect to loose with paid for software! One of these vendors was causing "torcho" to return; needless to say that the plugin has now been deleted.
Appreciate the response but if I'm honest I would have expected more of the £70 worth of software I just purchased from AVG.
