Fraser,
This may be a problem with PC TuneUp trying to optimize Microsoft Word. Try these steps and see if it helps:
- Open PC TuneUp (via the start menu or from the icon in the notifation area in the bottom right of your screen.
- Click the Optimize tab at the top, and then click on Disabled Programs
- Look to see if your version of Microsoft Office is in the list and make sure that the Desired Status is enabled, and that the Current Status is Permanently enabled. Chose to Enable if not.
- Close this window. Back on the Optimize tab in PC TuneUp, click on Configure Live Optimization and then Click on Specify Exceptions.
- In the search box, type in "Office", then select the same version of Office from above, then click on the right arrow (->) to place it in the Do not reduce load box.
- Close TuneUp Utilities, then restart your computer for the changes to take effect. You should be able to open your documents simply by double-clicking on them now.
