Mean while,  please check whether the Microsoft office, and other necessary applications/windows features are in the AVG TuneUp > Speed up > Background & startup programs.

My AVG has crashed.  Now my Word and Excel programs are converting themselves to read only.  Also having trouble getting my computer to restart correctly.
