- Uninstall the existing AVG protection from your computer (control panel > program and features).
- Restart your computer.
- Install version 18.3 from offline file (x64): https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/18-3-avg_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
- Choose custom installation
– check Data Safe
- right after the installation is complete go to Privacy section and create new Data Safe (should be worked without restart).
- export the necessary data.

Hi, I need to get access to an old AVG Data Safe file that has important documents. I don't use AVG anymore - this file is from 2014. How can I open this file? I understand that this file format is no longer used. Is there a viewer that AVG can provide?
